Welcome to Petit Loon

ABOUT THE COMPANY

It all began with a pile of pretty fabric, a sewing machine, and a girl that wasn’t too sure how to put the two together (quite literally). One quilting class in the back of a tiny sewing shop + two women three times her age + four fun mornings of learning solved that problem, and she was off and running. Fast forward one year, and Petit Loon was born. This is a little shop filled with cheerful patchwork quilts specifically for little ones (babies, toddlers, and the like). The name is a nod to both her study-abroad days in France as well as her amazing late grandfather and his favorite bird of all time.

ABOUT THE QUILTS

Pretty patterns and interesting color combinations shouldn’t just be reserved for adults, so you can find an abundance of them here. All Petit Loon quilts are of the patchwork variety – the simple structure allows the fabrics to do the talking. They are available in two sizes, blanket (24 inches by 30 inches) and throw (42 inches by 54 inches) and are machine-pieced and quilted with hand-stitched binding. Please keep in mind when ordering that each quilt is made to order, so it may be up to one month before your purchase is shipped. If a fabric included in the quilt you’ve purchased is unavailable for any reason, we will contact you immediately to discuss substitution options.

ABOUT THE GIRL BEHIND IT ALL

Janelle proudly hails from a small suburb right outside of Cleveland, Ohio, where she lives with her husband and two very rambunctious dogs. She loves her craft room, cooking without a recipe, runs around the neighborhood when she’s not feeling lazy, cardigans, the classical music station, and carrying on very long conversations. She can solve Wheel of Fortune puzzles and come up with witty remarks like nobody’s business. She started quilting in early 2011 and her love for her sewing machine has grown into a bit of an obsession. Let her make you something! She loves getting e-mails, so feel free to contact her at { janelle (at) petitloon (dot) com } if you have a question or just want to chat!
